Minfilia Warde is a female Hyur and the Antecedent of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn.

Background

Minfilia's father was a Garlean spy, whose his true allegiance lay with the Ala Mhigan Resistance. But soon after they arrived in Ul'dah, a beast that had been restrained during a parade gored him to death. If not for the generosity of the singer F'lhaminn, who took her in, Minfilia would have been alone in the world.

Minfilia first became aware of her extraordinary ability to perceive the past through other people's eyes around her seventeenth nameday. The following year, her longtime friend Thancred introduced her to Louisoix Leveilleur, and she discovered that her talent was called the Echo. Afterwards, she corresponded with the Archon frequently in an effort to identify others who have skills comparable to her own. She thus founded the Path of the Twelve, an institution that provided shelter to those displaying Echo-like traits while investigating the most effective ways to utilize their gifts for the benefit of the realm. Being a bit of a miner herself, Minfilia's most prized item is a tiny fragment of cat's eye that she found when she was little.

Minfilia wields a mythril knife, given to her by Thancred on her eighteenth nameday as a present so that she would be prepared to defend herself. Its blade has a smooth, Near Eastern curve, and the Goldsmiths' Guild created a gorgeous silver inlay for the hilt.
